Lightcone needs your help

It's time once again to make our collective voices heard.
Global responsiblity is at your doorstep.

Let your urge to help someone direct you to signing the Lightcone Petition today.

Light Cone is a not-for-profit distributor of an international collection of over 3,000 experimental films ranging from 1920's avant-garde to contemporary works, and whose survival is now menaced. Without this collection, the programming of a great many retrospectives of the past years wouldn't have been possible. Light Cone is a vital tool for ensuring the dissemination of these works, in particular in their original medium, for furthering knowledge of their contribution to the history of art, and the vitality of this field of reflection.

In addition to the fast archive of experimental film, Light Cone also has a well established Documentation Center including books, periodicals, and visual and sound material on avant-garde and experimental cinema, including many rare or out-of-print items such as English-language publications, exhibition catalogues, magazines from the '30s, '50s, and '70s, etc.
Files on individual artists and institutions in the realm of experimental cinema and artists' films. A photo library open to critics and programmers. Information on screenings, festivals and, more generally, on the current state of experimental cinema and artists' films.

Lightcone is located in Paris France.
