Holden, Clive... America, the new Canadian bacon.

Clive Holden speaking over clips of "Winnepeg Trains: 14 Film Poems," to a small class of Media Arts students at the University of Arizona. April 18

Spoke with Clive over cafe lunch and arts administration word bubble conversations in the hot, hot, heat of Tucson spring.

Watched his films with students, asking questions on how he makes artistic decisions, and where he expects to go next. I meet him in the hall way on my way home, we talk about airplane boneyard video and he gives me a copy of his dvd. weeks later, I watch it at home, mesmerized by the sounds, and flickering images scalding my eyes. This is happiness. I wake up the next morning to my mothers question, " will you go to Canada if the draft is re-instated?"

I think yes.
